Slowdown in the economy..

So.. what do architects do when lucrative construction contracts evaporate during this world-wide financial crisis (ie. recession)? Here are some things I'm thinking about.

1. Start writing haiku.
2. Do other kinds of art.. like glass-blowing.
3. Do more competitions.
4. Move on to the next Olympic city... London!
5. Become an entrepreneur.. and start a Mexican restaurant chain.
6. Go on a sabbatical in the Venice and learn Italian.
7. Run for a seat in parliament.
8. Pick up the guitar and busk for a while.
9. Go to Yunnan and help an orphanage.
10. Build a boat.

Enjoyed your seemed half serious and half hilarious suggestions. The bottom line is that I hope you stay where you are and continue to do what you are good at. Economy will turn around sooner or later. China has many many years to provide opportunities to persons like you. Take advantage of who and what you are. The long waited opportunities come to your generation and grab and treasure them! I can see next 50 years belong China. Others have had their shares already.
